What you type here is yours. It is encrypted, it is never sold, it never trains an AI model, and no other member can ever see it.
I built HolyPrompt after watching my mom grieve and not being able to find the words to comfort her. The prayers people write here are the most private things they own. That is the standard this page is held to, and my name is on it.

We don't sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with advertisers, data brokers, or third-party marketers. Not now. Not in the future. This is a non-negotiable founding principle.
Every prayer you write is encrypted in transit and at rest, and no other user of HolyPrompt can ever see it. We do not read your prayers. Being straight with you: like every app you use, someone has to be able to administer the database, and that access exists. We use it only when you ask us for help with your account, when we have to investigate abuse or a security problem, or when the law requires it. Never out of curiosity, never for marketing, and never to train AI.
The AI that generates your prayers is powered by industry-leading models (currently Claude by Anthropic). When you submit a prayer request, your input is processed and a prayer is returned. Under Anthropic's commercial terms your content is never used to train their models, and they delete it within 30 days, keeping it longer only if the law requires it or their safety systems flag a request.
We don't run ads on any plan, free or paid. Your prayer time is sacred. We won't interrupt it with sponsored content, banner ads, or pop-ups. Ever.
Settings → Account → Delete My Account. One tap, one confirmation, and your entire account, all saved prayers, and all personal data are permanently and irreversibly removed from our servers.
Some prayer apps share user data with churches, ministries, or "faith-based organizations" for marketing purposes. We don't. Your faith journey is private.
When you post to the Community Prayer Board, your identity is never attached to your post, not even internally. We can't see who posted what.
We only collect what's necessary to make the app work: your email (for login), your prayer content (encrypted, and never visible to another user), and basic anonymized usage analytics so we know which features people use. That's it.
Faith apps have not always earned the trust people give them. In November 2020, security researchers found a prayer app had left as many as 10 million user records sitting in unsecured cloud storage, including names, phone numbers, and email addresses (SiliconANGLE). That same month, reporting found another prayer app had been sending users' location data to a broker that resold it to US defense contractors (Business Insider). That company disputed how the reports characterized it and ended the relationship with the broker.
To be accurate about it: in both cases the data involved was account information and location, not the content of anyone's prayers. We are not claiming otherwise. We mention it because it is why the commitments above are written down, dated, and specific instead of vague.
